Arletty, Serge Reggiani, Marlon Brando, Mia Farrow, Max Von Sidow, Roman
Madou was brought up in Tahiti and like her father, became a jeweller, gemmologist and a painter -their common passion–
Whilst never forgetting her painting for one moment, Madou also began to take an active interest in nature protection (she was a founding member of the S.P.C.A. in Tahiti), tourism and film industry.
She became Tahiti’s public-relations officer for most of the films shot in Polynesia; and this brought her into contact with actors such as Marlon Brando, Mia Farrow, Max Von Sydow, Arletty, Roman Polanski and many others. For four long years she managed Marlon Brando’s ecological island paradise of Tetiaroa.
Her first husband was one of Pope Pie XII’s Italian health carers and her second a Cape Horner.
Together, on their 50-foot sailing boat, she discovered some of the most forgotten corners of the globe and some of the most fascinating and adorable people on earth.
She sailed the windy seas – stormy and calm – for any years.Tragedy hit when cyclone “Hugo” transformed all her drawings into paper maché and tore her canvasses to shreds.
Then, finding herself once more on “terra firma”, calm and peaceful around and at her own rhythm, Madou experiments, seeks, finds, loses and rediscovers her artistic prowess.
Married to sculptor Pierre Content, Madou imbibes the spirit of Catalonia where she now resides, overlooking the sea in Port-Vendres.
